Coronavirus Response

As our understanding of the situation increases, the Kensington Farmers' Market is taking extra precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. We continue to monitor local, state, and federal information sites and follow recommended guidelines to reduce the risk of exposure to Coronavirus.

In particular w
e are following the guidance for certified farmers’ markets published by Contra Costa Health Services at:

You will notice some changes to our market. While farmers’ markets are a vital link to food access for our community, they are also crucial to the livelihoods of our farmers and vendors. Until further notice the market will remain open each Sunday rain or shine.

These are some of the actions we are taking:
  • There will be hand washing stations at vendor booths and throughout the market for your use.
  • The two portable toilets down on Santa Fe both also have hand washing sinks and soap in them.
  • We are limiting the number of vendors to allow for separation and social distancing.
  • Vendors will not be providing samples.
  • Vendors must have all prepared food prepackaged, food cannot be prepared at the market
  • We have removed the center aisle in our market to allow more free flow of foot traffic as well as an opportunity to maintain a greater distance from your fellow shoppers.
  • We have discontinued the music and removed the audience participation area
